"After a long distinguished career, Rescue Van 4476 (formerly known as 754) has been retired from the Merton Fire Department fleet. Originally built and purchased in 1980, 754 served as our primary EMS response and fire support vehicle. When our ambulance service started in 2003, 4476 continued service as a back up and support vehicle for the Ambulance and continued in fire support. In its almost 30 years of service 4476 has responded to literally thousands of calls as it responded to almost every fire and rescue call that Merton was dispatched to. This vehicle has served it's community well and is a testament to the MFD members who speced it out and purchased it for us."
